STRENGTHS:
-Persistent: Once Haseo's set his mind on something it'll take a lot to change it. Pursuing Tri-Edge, protecting his friends, Haseo has the kind of determination that can change The World. It took a friend nearly sacrificing himself to change Haseo's mind about how he uses his Avatar, so it could be a weakness in that way as well. To borrow a phrase, he's persistent and he never gives up!
-Protective: It takes a while to really get Haseo to care about you, but once he does he'll challenge gods to keep you safe. This trait stems from the guilt he feels for failing to protect Shino, and later Alkaid, from becoming comatose. If someone hurts his friends he won't rest until he's personally torn them apart, such as Bourdoux after she PKed Alkaid.
-Surprisingly kind: The poster child for Jerk With a Heart of Gold, Haseo can't really stand to see people sad. This, too, could be considered part of his protective streak, but it's sure to appear quicker. He'll never admit to it, however, as it would ruin his reputation. However, it's definitely there, just ask Bo.
FLAWS:
-Rude: Haseo doesn't often care what people think of him, so he says what's on his mind more often or not. If he thinks you're lame, he says so. If he thinks you sound like an "Old Hag" he says so. In fact, he seems to like getting under people's skin. He gets better about it, but he never reaches anything close to "Polite."
-Impatient: He has goals, and he wants to see them accomplished as soon as possible. He'll seek out power he doesn't fully understand, or work under people who have the information he needs so long as it'll help him accomplish those goals. It's what lead him to using his Avatar in the Arena, and even joining Project G.U. in the first place.
-Temperamental: Haseo definitely has anger issues, which have gotten him in trouble on more than one occasion. His anger can get the better of him, putting him in a downright sadistic state if he's pushed far enough. This lead to him losing control of his Avatar and nearly leaving a friend comatose once, and he started to cool off after that. Started.

AU CHARACTER NAME: Ryou "Haseo" Misaki
AGE: 17

AU BACKSTORY: Ryou Misaki used to be a normal human until he was attacked and rendered comatose for a year and a half by an unknown Daemon. Upon awakening he set out to learn more, eventually coming across a number of people who had similar experiences. They banded together as an unofficial Daemon Hunter group, the Twilight Brigade.
Their leader, Ovan, was smart about it and only let members into the field once they've shown a certain level of combat capability. Once Ryou reached this level, he was allowed into combat missions and given the code-name "Haseo." However, shortly after granting Haseo this position, Ovan mysteriously vanished.
While looking for Ovan with another member of the Twilight Brigade, Shino, they were attacked by a powerful Daemon known only as "Tri-Edge." Far more powerful than the relatively weak Daemons the Brigade had faced thus far, Tri-Edge easily overpowered them both. Ryou was beaten to the point he could hardly move, and was forced to watch as Tri-Edge sliced into Shino three times, leaving her a bloody corpse.
Before Tri-Edge could do the same to Ryou, something else seemed to catch it's attention. It ran off towards this apparent disturbance, leaving Ryou for dead. It was in this sorry state that Skeith found him. An extremely powerful Daemon, and leader of the group of Daemons known as "The Wave," Skeith had no reason to spare him. And yet, it did. Not only that, but Skeith offered Ryou his power in his pursuit of revenge on Tri-Edge. Ryou traded his name and his early memories to Skeith, leaving him Haseo and Haseo alone.
With Skeith's power at his disposal, Haseo's only obstacle in his revenge was knowledge. He didn't know how to find Tri-Edge, so he decided to search the world for any leads. It was then that Ovan returned, directing Haseo towards a place where he could learn the location of his hated enemy: Daybreak Academy.
AU PERSONALITY DEVIATION: As Shino was killed rather than left comatose, Haseo is far more vicious than his canon counterpart. He has no desire to interrogate Tri-Edge, only to kill him for what he did to Shino.
RACE: Human
SECRET SOCIETY: Contracted
POWERS: The Terror of Death: A contract lending him the power of the Daemon Skeith, it allows him to "download" the abilities of defeated foes. A non-lethal victory will only grant him a small percentage of that power, but that can be increased with further victories against the same opponent. A lethal victory will take the power all at once, which could overwhelm Haseo if he's not careful.
Avatar: A dangerous power, this channels the power of Skeith into a shell around him, allowing him access to the Daemon's full power. However, if his will is insufficient for any reason, Skeith will take over control of the projection and run rampant.
